Job summary

STAFFLINK SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED in Singapore is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a permanent role at Joo Koon. You will lead the operations team, oversee planning, budgets and continuous improvement to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.

The role requires lean expertise, ERP SAP and MRP proficiency, and collaboration with multiple departments and partners to optimize overall performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with valve manufacturing/repair experience.
  • Experience leading operations and achieving safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
  • Lean mindset with 5S, Visual Management, Standardized Work and Kaizen.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and oversee the operational team, ensuring targets and quality standards are met.
  • Operational Planning: Develop plans, budgets and priorities to address resources and challenges; responsible for budgeting and cost control.
  • Performance Management: Conduct appraisals, hiring and training, and development plans to enhance capabilities.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve technical and operational issues with minimal disruption.
  • Cross Functional Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to integrate processes and achieve goals.

Job description

  • * 5 days Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • * Location: Joo Koon (walking distance from MRT station)
  • * Permanent role

Our client is a US MNC global leader, industrial control and power-management company, particularly focused on engines, turbines, generators, and electrical power systems

Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage and oversee the operational team, ensuring that performance targets and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Operational Planning: Develop and adapt departmental plans, budgets and priorities to address resource allocation and operational challenges effectively. (Responsible for budget and cost control.)
  • Performance Management: Conduct member performance appraisals, handle hiring and training processes, and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve technical and operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to departmental objectives and overall performance.
  • Cross Functional Coordination: Collaborate with other departments to integrate business processes and achieve strategic operational goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with valve manufacturing or repair experience
  • Operational Management: Proficient in managing and motivating teams to enhance performance and achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. Adept at monitoring and managing financial performance, including budgeting and cost control within the area of responsibility.
  • Lean Mindset: Proficient with 5S, Visual Management, Standardized Work, Daily Management Systems, Flow / Pull, Value Stream Mapping and Improvement through Kaizen.
  • Leads Production System implementation elements of member, machine, and material capacity planning. Leads DMS. Knowledgeable in how different business areas interact and integrates operations to support overall business objectives.
  • Computer Skills: Strong skills in Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for operational reporting. Ability to analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities. Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP. User level understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for inventory and production scheduling
  • Collaboration: Involves working closely with team members, other departments, senior management, and external partners to align goals, improve processes, and ensure smooth operations. This includes fostering open communication, coordinating across functions, solving problems, and supporting team development while maintaining a focus on efficiency and productivity.
