Job summary

Applied Materials, Singapore, seeks a New College Grad to join our manufacturing team. You will supervise entry-level production and operation functions, manage priorities, schedules, and daily tasks, and support Lean, Safety and Quality initiatives to meet output targets.

You will collaborate with cross-functional groups, participate in training and career development, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement while embracing occasional travel (up to 20%).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises employees across production and testing of equipment components.
  • Sets up daily team priorities, develops work schedules and assigns tasks.
  • Develops and executes action plans; utilizes shift handoffs and operations reviews.
  • Organizes and facilitates work team meetings (e.g., pre-shift, safety).
  • Participates in development and tracking of organization performance metrics.
  • Works to meet or improve cycle time and other production metrics.
  • Coordinates service/customer groups to obtain resources, tools, supplies or services for production schedules.
  • Eliminates safety incidents; improves equipment efficiency; builds leadership and morale on the line.
  • Assists in training and career development; supports performance management, hiring, rewards and disciplinary actions.
  • May participate in budgeting to forecast manpower and overhead.
  • Identifies process and quality improvements; drives Lean, Safety and Quality; takes corrective action.

Key Responsibilities

Supervises employees involved in a variety of production and/or operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test, and/or final test which is related to the manufacturing of the company's capital equipment and systems (electronic, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and/or components, subassemblies and subsystems).

Sets up daily team priorities, develops work schedules and assigns tasks. Responsible for developing and executing action plans and utilizing Shift Handoffs and designated operations reviews.

Organize and facilitate work team meetings (examples: pre-shift, safety, etc.). Participates in development and tracking of organization performance metrics. Responsible for meeting or improving cycle time performance and other metrics.

Coordinates efforts of service and/or customer groups to solicit resources tools, supplies, materials or services to meet production schedules.

Responsible for eliminating safety incidents, improving equipment efficiency, and developing leadership capability and morale on a production line.

Assists in training and career development; manages the performance management process. Manages the employee selection, hiring, reward and discipline processes.

May participate in the development of the budget to include forecasting manpower requirements and overhead expenditures.

Identifies process and quality changes designed to improve manufacturing or department capabilities. Drives Lean, Safety and Quality. Takes corrective action.

Other Requirements

This position may require standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.

Additionally, because this position also may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.
