Job summary

BYD Singapore is seeking a hands-on Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support the daily operation, reliability and maintenance of our EV charging network in Singapore. You will monitor performance, diagnose faults and coordinate maintenance activities with technicians and contractors.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to communicate in English and Chinese with HQ and diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in EV charging, electrical systems, maintenance, field service or infra ops preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Able to coordinate field activities with technicians, contractors and stakeholders.
• Familiar with EV charging systems, CSMS or charging infrastructure is a plus.
• Proficient in English and Chinese to communicate with China HQ and diverse stakeholders.

We are looking for a hands-on Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support the daily operation, reliability and maintenance of our EV charging network in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor charger status, alarms, charging sessions and network performance through CSMS/NOC systems.
• Diagnose faults, coordinate incident response and support timely technical issue resolution.
• Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for charging equipment.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure chargers, cables, connectors and related facilities are safe and in good operating condition.
• Support technical aftersales cases and coordinate with technicians, contractors and internal teams.
• Maintain maintenance records, incident reports, asset information and compliance documentation.
• Support testing, operational readiness and handover of new charging sites.
• Monitor equipment performance, recurring failures, response time, MTTR and maintenance completion.
• Prepare operational reports and recommend corrective or improvement actions.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in EV charging, electrical systems, equipment maintenance, field service or infrastructure operations preferred.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
• Able to coordinate field activities and work effectively with technicians, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with EV charging systems, CSMS or charging infrastructure would be an advantage.
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese languages to communicate with China HQ and stakeholders of diverse cultural backgrounds.
