Job summary

ADVARIO Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. invites applications for a Trainee Technician to operate terminal systems and jetties, following the Daily Action Plan, updating checklists and shift logs to reflect the latest procedures.

You will learn to perform WDO, sampling, tank gauging, valve and pump checks, and waste water operations, with guidance to operate independently when certified. A safety-focused, team-oriented environment awaits with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering/Maritime preferred.
• 1–2 years terminal experience preferred; fresh graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Operate terminal system (including jetties) per procedures and update daily logs to track activities.
• Follow HSSEQ rules, wear PPE, and perform ERP roles to ensure safety.
• Check terminal systems, perform routine housekeeping, and supervise mooring crew.
• Learn to perform WDO, sampling, tank gauging, valve and pump checks, and waste water system operations.
• Conduct ship-shore conferences and berthing/unberthing as per procedure.
• Report incidents and raise maintenance requests to keep terminal running.
• Complete task evaluations under Operations, Training, HSSEQ, HR and OCIMF for a Trainee Technician.

Job description

• Operate the terminal system (including jetties) according to the company's work procedures by efficiently carrying out the Daily Action Plan, updating the daily checklists and shift logs in order to keep track of the most recent procedures and track activities.
• Ensure compliance with all HSSEQ rules and regulations, including wearing the appropriate PPE, and assume suitable role(s) stipulated in the terminal's Emergency Response Plan (ERP), in order to guarantee safety of the terminal, the employees and the individual.
• Properly perform checks on the terminal systems (moving and non-moving), undertake routine checks and house-keeping on a regular basis and supervise mooring crew activities, in order to guarantee safe procedures and prevent failures to the terminal system.
• Learn how to and, if certified competently, independently perform: WDO, sampling, tank gauging, valve and pump checks, pump strainer cleaning and operating waste water system
• Conduct ship-shore conferences and berthing/unberthing vessels in accordance with company's work procedure.
• Report all unusual incidents in the terminal and raise maintenance request form for equipments failure, in order to keep the terminal running without errors.
• Complete all task evaluations under the Operations, Training, HSSEQ, HR Department and OCIMF for a Trainee Technician.

Your profile:

• Preferably a Diploma in Engineering/ Maritime
• Ideally have at least 1 - 2 years of Terminal experience. No experience are welcomed to apply.
• Possess good attitude towards work and a willingness to learn
• Has an affinity towards safety
• Good interpersonal skills and has the ability to resolve issues as a team
