Job summary

WSH Experts Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a School Operations & Science Lab Assistant to support HOD and LH Science teachers in managing two science laboratories, one storeroom, and related equipment.

You will assist with preparation of materials, stock control, maintenance of hydroponic systems, support for school events, and ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain resources and apparatus in 2 Science laboratories and 1 Science Storeroom.
• Liaise with teachers on syllabus coverage for laboratory preparation.
• Prepare resources and apparatus for experiments in 2 labs and 4 mobile lab carts.
• Keep records on laboratory usage and report to HOD/LH.
• Maintain loan records for desk-copies and teaching resources for 4 levels of Science classes.
• Assist in setting up, clearing and cleaning of demonstration apparatus.
• Replace broken equipment and manage all equipment used for science teaching.
• Maintain a stock book and breakage records; indicate replacements.
• Check and replenish first aid kits in laboratories.
• Prepare an annual inventory of stocks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by HOD (Science) and support practical lessons and tests.

To assist the HOD and LH Science and teachers in –

A) Science Department & Laboratory Operations

• 1. Maintain resources and apparatus in 2 Science laboratories and 1 Science Storeroom
• 2. Liaise with teachers on the coverage of syllabus for the preparation of the laboratories
• 3. Prepare the resources and apparatus related to Science experiments for the 2 laboratories and the 4 mobile lab carts from the store.
• 4. Keep records on the usage of the laboratories and report the usage to the HOD/LH
• 5. Maintain loan records for desk-copies and teaching resources for 4 levels of Science classes.
• 6. Assist in the setting up, clearing and cleaning of demonstration apparatus.
• 7. Replacement of broken equipment from stock and be responsible for all equipment used in the teaching of science
• 8. Keep a stock book and breakage record and to indicate necessary replacements
• 9. Check and replenish the first aid kits in the 2 2-10 laboratories
• 10. Prepare an inventory of stocks annually
• 11. Perform any other related duties as and when assigned by the HOD (Science)
• 12. Support teachers when conducting practical lessons and tests by ensuring sufficient equipment for the pupils during the practical lessons and tests both in the lab and in the classroom
• 13. Basic maintenance of Science garden and hydroponic system

B) School Operations Support:

• 14. Support school operations. E.g. setting-up for school events/activities, buying of stamps and posting letters, sorting and distributing bulletins/notifications to teachers or classes, etc.
• 15. Perform any ad-hoc operations duties assigned by Principal, Vice-Principals, Administration Manager and Operations Manager.
