Job summary

Century Water Systems & Technologies Pte. Ltd. seeks an experienced service operations engineer to oversee plant performance, optimize energy and chemical use, and lead a team of over 10 technicians.

You will coordinate with automation engineers for PLC/SCADA fault isolation and ensure compliance with safety and QA/QC standards. The role involves hands-on maintenance, system calibrations, commissioning support, and detailed reporting for client handover.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Water & Wastewater treatment systems.
• Hands-on experience with RO membrane replacement, RO & EDI CIP cleaning, MMF, ACF and Softener media replacement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, monitoring, and control of treatment systems (UF, RO, EDI, DI, IX, softener, media/filter units).
• Analyze plant trends and alarms via SCADA/HMI to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Optimize processes to improve energy efficiency, recovery rates, and chemical usage.
• Ensure compliance with PUB/NEA discharge limits and internal QA/QC standards.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance for pumps, valves, membranes, and control systems.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and logs in CMMS.
• Support performance testing, refurbishment, and membrane integrity checks.
• Calibrate and configure process instruments (pH, conductivity, turbidity, DO, flow, pressure, level, chlorine).
• Carry out loop checks, verify control signals, and diagnose MCC/VFD issues.
• Coordinate with automation engineers for PLC/SCADA fault isolation and reinstatement.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures (LOTO, PTW, confined spaces, chemical handling, work at height).
• Lead and mentor a team of >10 field service technicians; assign tasks and ensure SOPs/QHSE compliance.
• Provide technical coaching and on-the-job training to junior technicians.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and client coordination sessions.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the service group.
• Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and start-up of new or retrofit systems.
• Support installation, site acceptance, and integration with existing plant infrastructure.
• Conduct system performance verification and customer handover documentation.
• Prepare detailed service reports, calibration certificates, performance summaries, and CAPA recommendations.

• Ensure compliance with PUB/NEA discharge limits andinternal QA/QC standards.

• Plan, schedule, and supervise preventive andcorrective maintenance activities for pumps, valves, membranes, instruments,and control systems.

• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis formechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults.

• Ensure spare parts inventory and maintenance logs areproperly updated in CMMS systems.

• Support performance testing, refurbishment, andmembrane integrity checks.

• Perform or supervise calibration and configuration ofprocess instruments (pH, conductivity, turbidity, DO, flow, pressure, level,chlorine analyzers).

• Carry out loop checks, verify control signals, anddiagnose MCC/VFD issues.

• Lead and motivate a team of >10 field servicetechnicians, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence toSOPs and QHSE requirements.

• Provide technical coaching, skill assessments, andon-the-job training to junior technicians.

• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, safety briefings, andclient coordination sessions.

• Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuousimprovement within the service group.

• Participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and start-up ofnew or retrofit systems.

• Ensure adherence to PTW, risk assessment, confinedspace, chemical handling, and work-at-height protocols.

• Act as the technical point-of-contact for customers,providing professional advice and ensuring service satisfaction.

• Participate in standby/on-call duties as per rotationschedule.
