Job summary

Good Job Creations (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking a dedicated Operating Theatre Support staff to help prepare and maintain the theatre environment. You will assist the surgical team, manage equipment, and ensure infection control standards are consistently met.

The role requires initiative, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Prior theatre experience is preferred and training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Operating Theatre Support) or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience in an operating theatre, healthcare, or clinical support environment is preferred.
• Possess initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Commitment to infection control and patient care standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, tables, accessories and clinical equipment for procedures.
• Inspect and maintain theatre equipment to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning before, during and after procedures.
• Support the surgical team by adjusting lighting and providing timely assistance.
• Assist with application of surgical devices as directed by the clinical team.
• Conduct inventory checks for positioning aids and supplies.
• Clean and disinfect operating rooms and equipment between procedures.
• Handle and dispose of soiled linen, clinical waste and biohazard materials safely.
• Maintain cleanliness across theatre areas including preparation and scrub rooms.
• Perform terminal cleaning of operating rooms and transport patients as required.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of theatre equipment.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms, operating tables, accessories, and clinical equipment to ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
• Inspect and maintain operating theatre equipment, including suction units, diathermy machines, and operating lights, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
• Assist with the safe transfer and positioning of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Support the surgical team by adjusting operating lights, preparing equipment, and providing timely assistance during procedures.
• Assist with the application of surgical devices and accessories as directed by the clinical team.
• Conduct inventory checks and ensure adequate availability of positioning aids, accessories, and related supplies.
• Clean and disinfect operating rooms, equipment, and designated theatre areas between procedures in accordance with established protocols.
• Handle and dispose of soiled linen, clinical waste, and biohazard materials safely and appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards across operating theatre areas, including preparation rooms, scrub rooms, anaesthesia rooms, sluice rooms, and ancillary spaces.
• Perform terminal cleaning of operating rooms following surgical lists or infection-control requirements.
• Transport patients between wards and operating theatre areas as required.
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of operating theatre equipment.
