Job summary

Macquarie Group is seeking a trading analyst to support oil trading activities in Asia. The role offers broad exposure to physical and financial oil markets with a clear path toward a full-time trading position.

The team emphasizes accuracy, analytical rigor, and stakeholder communication, with hybrid working arrangements and opportunities to contribute to automation of trading desk processes.

Qualifications

• Up to 3 years' experience in commodities, trading or financial markets.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; Excel; Python/VBA advantageous.
• Interest in oil markets and commitment to trading career.
• Strong work ethic and integrity under pressure.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Degree in finance, economics, engineering or related quantitative field; Mandarin advantage.

Responsibilities

• Book and verify physical and derivative transactions.
• Monitor positions and risk exposures.
• Prepare and explain daily P&L and market/trading analyses.
• Oversee physical transactions lifecycle from pricing to settlement.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance and Risk to resolve issues.
• Support and develop desk processes through automation and improvements.
