Macquarie Group is seeking a trading analyst to support oil trading activities in Asia. The role offers broad exposure to physical and financial oil markets with a clear path toward a full-time trading position.

Formación

• Up to 3 years' experience in commodities, trading or financial markets.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills; Excel; Python/VBA advantageous.
• Interest in oil markets and commitment to trading career.
• Strong work ethic and integrity under pressure.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management.
• Degree in finance, economics, engineering or related quantitative field; Mandarin advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Book and verify physical and derivative transactions.
• Monitor positions and risk exposures.
• Prepare and explain daily P&L and market/trading analyses.
• Oversee physical transactions lifecycle from pricing to settlement.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance and Risk to resolve issues.
• Support and develop desk processes through automation and improvements.

Join our Commodities and Global Markets team as a trading analyst to support our oil trading activities in Asia. You will have broad exposure to physical and financial oil markets and a clear development path towards a full time trading role.

What role will you play?

Your key responsibilities will include booking and verification of physical and derivative transactions, monitoring of positions and risk exposures, and preparation and explanation of the daily P&L, market and trading analysis in support of the trading team. You will have oversight of physical transactions across their life cycle, from pricing to settlement, daily co-ordination with Operations, Finance and Risk on the resolution of issues, and being a key supporter and developer of ongoing improvement and automation of desk processes.

• Up to 3 years' experience in commodities, trading or financial markets (exposure to physical commodities is an advantage)
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with advanced Excel (proficiency in Python or VBA is an advantage)
• A strong interest in oil markets and a commitment to developing a career in trading
• A strong work ethic, integrity and the ability to perform under pressure
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• A degree in finance, economics, engineering or a related quantitative discipline (proficiency in Mandarin an advantage).
