Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical management of an oil-tanker fleet. This role ensures vessels operate safely, reliably and cost-effectively while complying with class, flag-state and international regulations.

You will lead Technical Superintendents, oversee dry-dockings and major projects, manage technical budgets and serve as the senior escalation point for vessel-related matters. Travel internationally as required.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering or related discipline.
• Chief Engineer Class 1 CoC or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive seagoing and shore-based technical-management experience in tanker sector.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and overall management of the assigned oil-tanker fleet.
• Lead and develop Technical Superintendents and shore-based technical staff.
• Ensure vessels are safe, compliant, reliable and operationally ready.
• Monitor vessel condition, machinery performance and maintenance standards.
