Job summary

BW Offshore is seeking an Offshore Technical Assurance Specialist (HSSE) to join the Operational Governance team. This role provides independent insight into critical controls, identifies risks, and influences performance across the global fleet, combining offshore exposure with senior leadership engagement.

The position reports to the Asset Assurance Manager and offers a chance to shape BW Offshore's modern, risk-based assurance function focused on learning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Marine, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in offshore oil & gas or other high-hazard industry with HSSE focus.
• Experience in assurance, auditing, risk management or performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver HSSE assurance activities across BW Offshore's global fleet.
• Conduct offshore assurance visits and compare Work as Imagined vs Work as Performed.
• Provide independent insight on critical risk controls and barriers.
• Verify workforce competence assessment processes and promote consistent standards.
• Identify weak signals and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Influence leaders and frontline teams through coaching and engagement.
• Drive closure of assurance findings and support risk escalation when required.
• Shape the future of assurance through continuous improvement.
