Job summary

BW Offshore is seeking an Offshore Technical Assurance Specialist (HSSE) to join the Operational Governance team. The role offers exposure to BW Offshore's global FPSO fleet and involves independent assurance of critical controls, risk identification and performance improvement.

Reporting to the Asset Assurance Manager, the role combines offshore deployment, leadership interaction and a future-focused, risk-based assurance function. Strong HSSE background and offshore experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Marine, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' offshore oil and gas or high-hazard industry HSSE experience.
• Experience in assurance, verification, auditing, risk management or performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver HSSE assurance activities across BW Offshore's global fleet under the Technical Assurance Program.
• Conduct offshore assurance visits, testing Work as Imagined vs Work as Performed.
• Provide independent insight on critical risk controls and operational barriers.
• Verify workforce competence assessment processes and promote consistent assurance standards.
• Identify weak signals, emerging risks and opportunities for performance improvement.
• Influence leaders and frontline teams through coaching, challenge and engagement.
• Drive closure of assurance findings and support risk escalation where required.
• Shape the future of assurance through continuous improvement and innovative approaches.
