Job summary

SWIFT TEAM ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION SERVICES seeks an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Professional to oversee workplace safety and ensure compliance with relevant requirements. The role focuses on developing safety policies, conducting inspections, risk assessments and training across projects.

Responsible for incident investigations, PPE management and coordination with site teams at Tanah Merah Staging Ground, you will ensure 24hrs shift readiness and robust documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
• Min 4 yrs of experience in the field.
• Relevant professional qualifications in Workplace Safety and Health are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain safety policies, procedures and programmes.
• Conduct regular inspections, safety audits and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and recommend control measures.
• Monitor compliance with WS H regulations and company safety requirements.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings and training.
• Investigate incidents and prepare reports and corrective actions.
• Oversee PPE provision and usage, and emergency preparedness.
• Coordinate with management, workers and authorities on safety matters.
• Maintain records related to safety, risk assessments, inspections and training.
• Follow up on observations and actions until closure.
• Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.

Job Description

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Professional to oversee workplace health and safety matters and ensure compliance with relevant occupational safety and health requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain workplace safety and health policies, procedures and programmes.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits and risk assessments.
• Identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company safety requirements.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings and training for employees and workers.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents and near misses, and prepare investigation reports and corrective action plans.
• Monitor the implementation of safety measures at work sites and ensure workers follow safe work practices.
• Maintain proper records and documentation relating to workplace safety, risk assessments, inspections, incidents and training.
• Coordinate with management, supervisors, workers, contractors and relevant authorities on safety and health matters.
• Advise management and project teams on occupational safety and health requirements.
• Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided and properly used.
• Assist in emergency preparedness, emergency response procedures and drills.
• Follow up on safety observations, non-conformities and corrective actions until closure.
• Perform any other safety-related duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Workplace Safety and Health, Environmental Health & Safety or a related field.
• Min 4 yrs of experince in this field.
• Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in Workplace Safety and Health will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in construction, engineering or industrial environments preferred.
• Good knowledge of workplace safety practices, risk assessment and incident investigation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with workers, supervisors and management.
• Good documentation and report-writing skills.
• Willingness to work at project/work sites and attend site safety activities when required.
