Job summary

The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) Blood Resources Division is seeking a Nurse In-Charge for Bloodbank@Westgate Tower to lead daily operations, oversee donor services and uphold the highest standards of blood collection and quality management.

Ideal candidates are experienced registered nurses with ANC background and strong leadership skills. Rotational morning, afternoon, and weekend shifts are required within a 5-day work week at the Blood bank location in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Minimum Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing with relevant work experience as a registered Nurse.
• Valid Nursing registration certificate with Singapore Nursing Board.

Responsibilities

• Oversee whole blood collection programmes, lead and manage blood collection staff in their daily responsibilities.
• Ensure seamless operations of the blood collection centre in collaboration with management, maintain high standards of donor and blood product management.
• Conduct machine validation and calibration procedures.
• Lead the team as a role model and foster effective teamwork, coach and mentor blood collection staff in their work responsibilities.
• Assist in competency and proficiency assessments and testing.
• Support quality management activities and participate in Blood Bank audits to meet accreditation standards.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Provide clinical support in donor management activities including medical screening.
• Manage blood donor complications and adverse events, demonstrate effective communication skills in donor services.
• Ensure donor safety and satisfaction throughout the donation process.
• Conduct research and participate in or lead project initiatives with clinical or process improvement focus.
• Identify opportunities for operational enhancement and service excellence.
