Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and technically competent Network Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be stationed at our customer's premises to provide day-to-day network infrastructure support, monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate network maintenance activities.

This position is suitable for candidates with a good understanding of networking fundamentals who enjoy hands-on technical work and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Support and Administration

• Provide daily technical support and administration of network equipment, including switches, routers and related infrastructure.
• Monitor network equipment and connectivity to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain accurate network equipment inventory, asset records and technical documentation.
• Handle, investigate and resolve network incidents, service requests and approved change requests.
• Escalate complex network issues to the relevant technical teams when necessary.

2. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Monitor network performance and identify potential connectivity or performance issues.
• Provide first-level troubleshooting and resolution of LAN, Wi-Fi and basic network connectivity issues affecting end users.
• Perform initial diagnostics to identify network faults and assist in restoring services.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams and external vendors for issue resolution.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Nitec/Higher Nitec in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering or a related discipline.
• Preferably 1-3 years of relevant experience in network support, IT infrastructure support or a similar role.
• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VLAN, DNS and DHCP.
• Basic knowledge of network equipment such as switches, routers and wireless access points.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
• Basic knowledge of structured network cabling and patching.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently at the customer's premises and collaborate effectively with other technical teams.
• Responsible, proactive and service-oriented, with a willingness to learn.
