Rahi Systems Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Network Operations Engineer (NOC) for Data Center to monitor and maintain LAN/WAN/Wireless networks and ensure excellent end-user experience.

You will work in a 24/7, 3x8 shift rotation, support Cisco switching/routing, troubleshoot alarms, and collaborate with IDC technicians on physical work and network maintenance.

Candidate should have 1–3 years in data center network operations, knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF/BGP, and CCNA/JNCIA preferred.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of data center network monitoring and operations experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco switching, routing and wireless hardware, software and support.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, ARP, STP).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tier-1 network monitoring and operations of the IDC network with 24/7 support in a 3x8 shift.
  • Respond to alarms and faults promptly; escalate to tier-2 when needed.
  • Complete network breakfixes like switch replacements, link repairs, and dark fiber restoration.
  • Collaborate with IDC technicians to conduct physical work and provide remote guidance.
  • Carry out network maintenance tasks as scheduled.
  • Summarize daily monitoring and operations in reports shared with the team.
  • Be available evenings and weekends as required.

Job description

Network Operations Engineer (NOC - Data Center)

This person is responsible for supporting Data Center NOC network communications, including maintaining, and monitoring LAN/WAN/Wireless network environment needed to provide a great end user experience.

Utilizes LAN/WAN/Wireless network monitoring tools to ensure optimal system utilization, performance and system availability.

Supports vendors to install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems and services vital to organization’s business. Contributes to highly complex technical projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for tier-1 network monitoring and operations of customer's IDC network, providing 24/7 support, on a 3x 8-hour shift rotation. Total 40-hour work week, with days off.
  • Responsible for promptly responding to, following up on, and driving the resolution of various network alarms and faults. Escalate to tier-2 engineer if needed.
  • Responsible for following up and finishing network breakfixes like switch replacement, link repairing and dark fiber restoration.
  • Work with IDC technicians to conduct physical work and provide proper instruction remotely.
  • Responsible for conducting network maintenance.
  • Summarise daily monitoring and operations work into documents and regularly share within the team.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends as situations required.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in data center network monitoring and operations.
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco switching, routing and wireless hardware, software and support.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols, such as OSPF, BGP (ISIS), ARP, STP, OTN etc. Multi‑vendor experience is a plus.
  • Responsible, meticulous, have good communication skills.
  • Capable of network troubleshooting with CLI, and experience with Linux is preferred.
  • Certificate like CCNA/JNCIA is preferred.
Skills:
  • Router and switch configuration.
  • MicroSoft suite of software including Visio and Power Point.
  • Effective communications with end users and other IT staff.
  • Ability to create clear and highly accurate project and network documentation is a must.
  • Working knowledge of carrier based MPLS networks.
  • Ability to understand carrier networks and cloud based service offerings.
  • Ability to quickly analyze situations and act decisively.
  • Vendor management.
  • Advanced troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and support concepts (ITIL, BICSI, Lean).
