About the Role
We are looking for a driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable Network Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor and primary point of contact for our clients-balancing high-level network infrastructure projects with responsive day-to-day ad-hoc L1/L2 IT support.
You will work hands-on with industry-leading networking gear (Cisco and Fortinet), manage essential system and backup operations, proactively track internal and customer license expiries and maintenance windows, and partner directly with customers through weekly status meetings to recommend technology refreshes. If you are an independent, problem-solver who takes pride in operational accuracy, loves exploring new vendors, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Network Implementation, Management & Security
- Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise networking hardware, including (but not limited to) Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points(APs), and firewalls, as well as FortiGate firewalls.
- Manage network segmentation (VLANs), routing protocols, site-to-site and SSL VPNs, firewall security policies, and firmware upgrades.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity bottlenecks, and perform root-cause analysis for hardware and configuration issues.
- Maintain accurate network topology diagrams, IP address schemas, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal and client environments.
Client Advisory, Lifecycle Tracking & Pre-Sales
- Attend weekly status meetings with clients to review open support tickets, project milestones, backup health, upcoming maintenance windows, and pending renewals.
- Proactively monitor and track license expiry dates , support contracts, and maintenance windows for both our internal company infrastructure and customer environments (e.g., FortiGuard UTM, Cisco Smart Net, domain/SSL certificates, M365, and backup licenses) to ensure zero service lapses and timely renewal proposals.
- Assess existing customer IT environments to identify End-of-Life (EOL) / End-of-Support (EOS) hardware, security gaps, and performance bottlenecks.
- Recommend practical, scalable IT solutions and technology refresh roadmaps tailored to client budgets and business goals.
- Draft clear, compelling technical proposals, bills of materials (BOM), and scopes of work (SOW) for customer IT projects, renewals, and upgrades.
- Rapidly self-learn, test, and deploy network products from new and emerging hardware/software vendors to meet evolving client needs.
System Administration, End-User Support & Backup Operations
- Provide responsive ad-hoc L1/L2 IT service and troubleshooting (both remote and on-site) for client end-users, resolving desktop/laptop OS issues, M365/Outlook email problems, printer/peripheral connectivity, and software access requests.
- Perform day-to-day Windows Server and Active Directory (AD) administration, including user onboarding/offboarding, group management, Group Policy (GPO) basics, file permissions, DNS, and DHCP.
- Execute and verify file system and email server backups, ensuring data integrity, proper retention, and readiness for disaster recovery.
- Conduct routine system health checks, patch management, and preventative maintenance across internal and client schedules.
Operational Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
- Liaise with third-party vendors, ISPs, and hardware principals to manage maintenance windows and resolve escalated support tickets.
