Job summary

Hitachi Rail Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Network Engineer to design, specify, cost and implement complex network and infrastructure solutions in Singapore.

The role involves interfacing with customer engineers, suppliers and other system designers, and leading testing during site implementation. You will work with technologies such as SDH, MPLS, IP/MPLS and Ethernet, plus virtualization and IT services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Telecommunications Engineering.
• Cisco certificates (CCNA/CCNP/CCDA) or equal vendor certs are highly preferred.
• Experience in network detailed design and implementation with SDH, MPLS, Ethernet is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, specify and cost detailed network and infrastructure solutions.
• Interface with customer engineers to define design and service requirements.
• Lead testing and commissioning of network solutions during site implementation.

Network Engineer (Ref.No. R1009909) at our location in Singapore

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, specify & costing of detailed Network and Infra solution, including Interpreting requirement and producing fully detailed & compliant design
• Interfacing with customer engineer for design definition
• Interfacing with other system-wide designers for service definition
• Interfacing with suppliers and vendors for product definition
• Evaluating and costing of the most suitable products and system
• During site implementation, testing & commissioning the Network
• Able to lead test engineers to deliver testing activities against stringent timescales
• Keep track of progress of all design & interface tasks
• Carrying out all assigned work efficiently, with a minimum of supervision, Expediting response and deliverables (documents & including engineering drawings, specifications, design reports and calculations, equipment details and other project information)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Professional knowledge and experience in network detailed design and implementations
• On technologies including SDH, SR-MPLS, MPLS-TP, IP, IP/MPLS, Ethernet etc
• Cable network design (fibre, copper, structured cabling)
• 4G/5G/Wifi network design
• Infra design (Virtualisation, VMWare, Windows, Linux, IT services)
• Cybersecurity implementation (Hardening, FW, AV,…)
• Scripting experience for automation/generation of configurations
• Issue analysis (Wireshark, …)
• Network detailed design, administration, troubleshooting, capacity optimization
• Network security design and implementation
• Demonstrating a degree of initiative, and resourcefulness in solving problems

APTITUDE / SOFT SKILLS

• Resourceful and analytical in design activities
• Ability to use pertinent data for meticulous recommendations
• Making timely & well considered technical decisions, both independently and in concert with other

You have:

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Telecommunications Engineering
• Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP)
• Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
• Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA)
• Huawei Certified ICT Professional (HCIP)
• Or other vendor specific courses, such as Juniper Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE)
