MARINTEKNIK SHIPBUILDERS (S) PTE LTD in Singapore seeks a Naval Architect/Marine Engineer to design, analyze, and oversee vessel construction using CAD and simulation tools, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and delivering safe, efficient ship designs.

You will lead interdisciplinary teams, perform CFD and structural analyses, coordinate with clients, vendors, and regulators, and supervise build and repair phases to maintain quality and adherence to design specs.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software to create vessel designs and specifications for various ships and platforms.
• Perform CFD and physical model testing to evaluate stability, buoyancy, weight distribution, resistance and propulsion.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and coordinate with clients, engineers, vendors, and regulators.
• Ensure designs and construction comply with international maritime regulations and classification society standards (DNV, Lloyd's Register).
• Supervise construction and repair phases to maintain quality and adherence to design specs.
• Provide technical consultation on maintenance, repairs, conversions, and fault investigations.

Job Summary

You will design, analyze, and oversee the construction of various vessels using advanced CAD and simulation tools, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient ship designs.

Responsibilities

• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Rhino and GStarCAD to create detailed vessel designs and technical specifications for cargo ships, passenger ferries, warships, submarines, yachts, and offshore platforms
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and physical model testing, to evaluate vessel stability, buoyancy, weight distribution, resistance, and propulsion
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and coordinate with clients, engineers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth build processes
• Ensure all vessel designs and construction comply with international maritime regulations and classification society standards such as DNV and Lloyd's Register
• Supervise construction and repair phases to maintain quality control and adherence to design specifications
• Provide technical consultation on vessel maintenance, repairs, conversions, and investigate faults or accidents to support operational safety and performance

Job Requirements

Required competencies and certifications

• Proficiency in CAD software (Rhino, GStarCAD) and analysis tools for stability (Maxsurf) and structural integrity (ANSYS)
• Strong mathematical skills in calculus, trigonometry, and physics to perform complex engineering analyses
• Ability to solve complex design and engineering problems creatively and effectively
• Leadership and teamwork skills to communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in vessel design and construction
