Sentient in Singapore is seeking an Applied ML Engineer to build systems at the intersection of machine learning research and production software. This role spans model evaluation, inference infrastructure, backend systems, and product interfaces, delivering reliable and measurable ML products.

You’ll reproduce research, design evaluation datasets, work with model weights and APIs, and ship production-quality services and dashboards for users.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and ML tooling.
• Experience with ML evaluation, baselines, metrics, and reproducibility.
• Ability to read research papers and implement methods from first principles.
• Experience shipping production software beyond notebooks (APIs, async jobs, databases).
• Familiarity with open-weight models and LLM inference systems.

Responsabilités

• Reproduce and evaluate research methods using open-weight models.
• Design evaluation datasets, probes, scoring methods, baselines, calibration tests, and experiment harnesses.
• Work with model weights, logits, hidden states, activations, APIs, and inference infra.
