Job summary

TikTok is seeking a highly qualified researcher to join the team developing a state-of-the-art e-commerce search engine. You will work on multi-modal matching, ranking, and personalization at scale, applying NLP, CV and multimodal techniques to improve search quality for billions of users.

Successful candidates will have a PhD in a related field, strong coding skills, and ML experience with a user-centric approach.

Qualifications

PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
Excellent coding skills and solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Strong analytical, modeling and problem-solving abilities using complex data.
Industry ML experience with a user-centric product mindset.

Responsibilities

Improve basic search quality and user experience via query analysis, text relevance and multi-modal matching.
Design and implement end-to-end ranking systems to boost GMV and user satisfaction.
Advance the ecosystem by solving supply-demand matching, cold start, and scalable growth challenges.
Contribute to personalized AI search with engineering focus, post-training optimization and evaluation rubrics.
Work in a team using statistics, scripting and programming languages needed by the firm.
Collaborate with software platforms where deployed models run.
