Job summary

Abnormal AI is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer I to join the Misdirected Email Detection team in Singapore. You will own end-to-end ML development, from data wrangling and feature engineering to model deployment and monitoring.

The role emphasizes practical, production-grade ML systems and measurable customer impact. You will collaborate with product, tech leads, and engineers across time zones to deliver robust detection at scale and to support GA launches.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Information Systems, or related field.
• 1+ years building and operating applied ML features in production.
• Experience in end-to-end ML systems: data wrangling, feature engineering, model training, deployment with monitoring.
• Ability to implement algorithms, develop features, and combine signals for production use.
• Ability to analyze production data and run targeted experiments to improve model performance.
• Understanding of online vs offline pipelines and labeling workflows for scalable deployments.
• Experience with offline metrics, A/B tests, thresholds, drift monitoring, and rollback strategies.
• Strong written and asynchronous communication; works well with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the full ML lifecycle for Misdirected Email detection from data wrangling to deployment.
• Experiment, evaluate, set thresholds, and monitor model performance post-launch.
• Collaborate with Product, Tech Lead, and engineering to align with roadmap milestones.
• Produce clear technical docs and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on-call rotation for detection components with focus on reliability.
