Virtuos is seeking a hands-on Machine Learning Engineer to build an enterprise AI agent platform with a strong backend focus. You will design agent execution, orchestration, and secure REST services with PostgreSQL data models, while delivering responsive frontend interfaces in TypeScript.

This role emphasizes integration with enterprise systems, secure credential handling, and reliable, scalable workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience across backend and frontend.
• Strong Python skills with FastAPI or similar frameworks, asynchronous programming, REST APIs, SQLAlchemy/Pydantic, and PostgreSQL data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with LLM tool calling, agent execution, or workflow orchestration; ability to explain design decisions and state management.
• Experience integrating enterprise APIs, data mapping, pagination, rate limits, and retries.
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0/OIDC and secure credential handling in applications.
• Ability to build reliable asynchronous workflows with concurrency control, idempotency, and recovery.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Vue or React, including routing and state management.
• Experience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, and Docker; strong debugging via logs and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop agent platform and orchestration features for enterprise AI agents.
• Build and integrate tools/connectors for enterprise APIs and services with clear input/output contracts.
• Design Python backend services, secure REST APIs, and PostgreSQL models for agents and workflows.
• Create responsive web interfaces using TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks for task progress and results.
• Ensure security, access controls, concurrency, and audit logging across systems.
• Maintain tests, CI/CD pipelines, and conduct agent evaluations for reliability and cost.
