Job summary

The Singapore American School Library invites an experienced school librarian to join a collaborative K-12 team. You will empower students as critical thinkers, readers, researchers, and ethical information users, while partnering with educators and administrators to plan, implement, and evaluate inquiry-rich learning experiences.

You will lead collection development, digital-literacy instruction, and reading programs to support lifelong learning and global perspectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• MLIS or equivalent school librarian certification/endorsement.
• Two years of full-time librarian experience in a school setting preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
• Knowledge of diverse children's and young adult literature.

Responsibilities

• Partner with educators to design inquiry lessons and assessments for students.
• Provide targeted group and individual instruction in research, digital literacy and ethical information use.
• Foster a love of reading through book talks, reading programs and advisory support.
• Plan and deliver learning experiences for students, educators and the broader community.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain a diverse, current library collection.
