Qualifications

Job description

Role OverviewWe are looking for a proactive Mid-Senior App Test Engineer who goes beyond basic test execution. You will deeply understand business requirements, proactively identify risks, pinpoint root causes, and take full ownership of the overall project quality.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Testing: Drive the software testing lifecycle for Android and iOS applications, including functional, API, compatibility, performance, stability, and regression testing.

• Requirement Analysis: Participate in product requirement reviews to identify missing logic, conflicts, and potential risks early in the process.

• Project Ownership: Independently manage testing schedules for project releases, ensure version quality, and drive on-time deployment.

• Defect Troubleshooting: Isolate and analyze issues using logs and data. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure defects are resolved and closed.

• Production Support: Assist in analyzing live issues, reproducing user feedback, and driving continuous quality improvements.

• Process Optimization: Refine testing workflows, standards, and test case frameworks to maximize test coverage and efficiency.

Requirements

• QA Fundamentals: Strong grasp of software testing theories, test methodologies, defect lifecycles, and advanced test case design.

• Mobile Ecosystem: Deep understanding of Android and iOS platforms, including compatibility testing across various OS versions, device models, and network conditions.

• Testing Tools: Proficiency in debugging and testing tools such as Charles, Fiddler, Postman, JMeter, and ADB.

• Network & API: Solid knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS and WebSocket protocols, with strong hands-on experience in API testing and packet analysis.

• Database & Logs: Ability to write basic SQL queries for data verification, and confidently use client/server logs, API payloads, and databases for initial root-cause analysis.

• Analytical & Soft Skills: Strong logical thinking, risk identification, and the ability to uncover edge cases. Excellent time-management skills to handle multiple concurrent projects.

• Language Proficiency: Business proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking technical teams and stakeholders.

Good to Have (Bonus)

• Experience with mobile automation frameworks (Appium, Airtest, Selenium) and scripting languages (Python, Java).

• Experience building API automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, or continuous testing platforms.

• Specialized testing experience (Performance, Weak Network, Security, or Stability testing).

• Prior experience in QA team leadership, project quality management, or process optimization.
