Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a results-oriented engineer to drive measurement recipes, SPC-based quality monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D Fab teams in the US.

The role focuses on improving yield, tool reliability, and process control within Micron’s semiconductor manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates will have a engineering or science degree, strong analytical capabilities, and a track record of leadership.

  • Collaborate with R&D Fab site in the US on new technology development.
  • Participate in global toolset discussions to share best practices.
  • Set up tool qualification criteria and monitor with SPC charts.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Operations for tool maintenance and utilization.
  • Lead projects to enhance inline detection, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Work with suppliers to explore innovative approaches to tooling.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Work proactively to problem solve with yield or quality impact on our products through development of measurement recipes that can provide quick and accurate feedback on the product integrity.
  • Participate in new technology development and startup alongside with Research & Development (R&D) fabrication (Fab) site in US.
  • Participate in world-wide discussions such as Copy-Smart Team (CST) for continuous improvement on the toolset(s) assigned across Micron Fabs. Share Best-Known-Methods and lesson learned across the network.
  • Set up tool qualification criteria and implement monitoring through Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Operations and/or Application teams to optimize tool maintenance schedules and utilization.
  • Develop and run projects crafted to enhance inline detection, improve efficiency, reduce cost, reduce tool measurement variability and improve machine availability.
  • Partner with the tool suppliers and owners to explore innovative ways of doing things to overcome the challenge of the shrinking technology nodes.
  • Support Fab through data analysis, providing knowledgeable summations of results and recommendations on how to proceed with process changes, equipment availability improvements and cost reduction work.
  • Ensure engineering team is trained on recipe maintenance, tool recovery, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities for the assigned tools.
  • Determine Sampling strategy to meet Production, Process Control and Quality requirement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Science is required
  • Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels
  • Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
  • Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
  • Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.
