Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Messaging & Collaboration Engineer to manage SharePoint farms, perform governance, and ensure secure, scalable collaboration across on-premises, hybrid, and Microsoft 365 environments.

You will administer SQL Server, support HA/DR strategies, and automate tasks with PowerShell while collaborating with security teams to mitigate risks and maintain governance. On-site role in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computing or equivalent work experience.
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert and Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• 6+ years of experience managing enterprise SharePoint and SQL Server environments.
• Hands-on experience with SharePoint SE/Online and Microsoft SQL; Exchange Server/Online

Responsibilities

• Manage SharePoint farms and site collections, patching, upgrades, and governance.
• Support hybrid integration with Microsoft 365 services and on-premises SharePoint.
• Administer SQL Server environments, monitor performance, and handle backups and DR.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and enforce least-privilege access and security configurations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure high availability and reliability.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Messaging & Collaboration Engineer with strong expertise in SharePoint and SQL Server administration. This role is responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and reliable collaboration services across on-premises, hybrid, and Microsoft 365 environments.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Administration

Manage and maintain SharePoint farms and site collections

Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management

Define and enforce governance policies and best practices

Support hybrid integration with Microsoft 365 services

Troubleshoot issues across SharePoint architecture

SQL Server Management

Administer SQL Server environments supporting SharePoint and other applications

Monitor and optimize database performance and resource utilization

Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies

Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., Always On, clustering)

Perform capacity planning and database maintenance

Automation & Scripting

Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks

Improve operational efficiency through automation and tooling

Generate reports for system health, usage, and compliance

Security & Compliance

Implement and enforce least-privilege access models

Ensure secure configurations aligned with enterprise policies

Support audit readiness and compliance requirements

Collaborate with security teams to mitigate risks

Monitoring & Reliability

Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms

Perform root cause analysis and incident resolution

Participate in on-call support rotation

Ensure high availability and system stability

• Proactively monitors the work queues.
• Performs operational tasks to resolve all incidents/requests in a timely manner and within the agreed SLA.
• Identifies, investigates, analyses issues and errors prior to or when they occur, and logs all such incidents in a timely manner.
• Executes changes with clear identification of risks and mitigation plans to be captured into the change record.
• Ability to work across various other resolver group (internal and external) like Service Provider, TAC, etc.
• Identifies problems and errors before they impact a client’s service
• Leads and manages all initial client escalation for operational issues.
• May work on implementing and delivering disaster recovery functions and tests.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in IT/Computing (or demonstrated equivalent work experience).

Certifications relevant to the services provided (certifications carry additional weightage on a candidate’s qualification for the role).

Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

Required Experience & Skills

6+ years of experience managing enterprise-level SharePoint and SQL Server environments

Strong hands-on expertise in:

SharePoint SE and online

Microsoft SQL

Exchange Server (SE) and Exchange Online
