Job summary

Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) invites applications for a Research Engineer (Membrane System) – EA5 to join our Engineering research team. You will contribute to an industry-driven project developing a demonstration‑scale low pressure membrane system in collaboration with Atera Water Pte Ltd.

Responsibilities include planning, experiments, data logging, CFD correlation, report drafting and supporting procurement and lab setup at SIT and PUB site.

Qualifications

• The appointee should have a strong foundation in fluid dynamics and understanding of fluid (air and water) flow is important.
• Experience with design of experiments, carrying out experiments and results analysis.
• Prior experience working with membrane systems will be a plus.
• A recognised degree from a good University is required.
• Ability to work independently with strong data analytical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in handling large data sets and the ability to analyse and interpret results.
• Experience with internet of things setup and controller design (PLC or embedded computing).

Responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, planning, forecasting and daily project operations for the LPMS demonstration.
• Assist in co-supervising final year or capstone projects under the Project PI.
• Assist in designing, planning and setting up of a demonstration scale LPMS plant.
• Assist in setting up a lab-scale LPMS plant at SIT Punggol campus.
• Carry out experiments, log data and analyze results.
• Work with CFD results to correlate with experimental data.
• Assist in drafting reports, conference proceedings and journal articles.
• Prepare fortnightly reports of results from computations for the program director and PI.
• Support procurement and maintenance of software/hardware under the PI.
• Perform any other adhoc duties assigned.
