Job summary

LMA Recruitment Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Medical Underwriter to join an established insurance team in Singapore. You will analyse complex medical cases, review clinical evidence and determine coverage terms with independent judgment.

You will manage case volumes, maintain clear underwriting rationales for governance, and handle confidential health data in compliance with privacy regulations. Strong clinical knowledge and accuracy are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–5 years of medical underwriting experience.
• Ability to maintain accuracy across a high volume of cases.
• Experience reviewing clinical evidence and related records.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Medical Underwriter to join an established insurance team in Singapore. This opportunity is suited to someone with strong clinical knowledge who enjoys analysing challenging risks and has the confidence to make sound underwriting decisions independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex and referred cases, particularly those involving multiple medical conditions, ongoing treatment or detailed clinical backgrounds.
• Determine appropriate coverage terms by applying medical knowledge, risk judgement and established underwriting guidelines.
• Review a broad range of clinical evidence, including specialist findings, laboratory investigations, treatment records and doctors' assessments.
• Underwrite healthcare risks including applications and changes throughout the policy lifecycle.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to obtain clarification or further medical evidence where required.
• Manage case volumes effectively while delivering decisions within agreed service standards.
• Maintain clear records of underwriting rationale and decisions for governance and audit purposes.
• Handle confidential health and personal data in accordance with applicable privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Provide periodic updates on underwriting volumes, pending cases and overall team performance, while supporting transition activities when required.

What We're Looking For
