Commissioning acceptance testing and radiation survey of Radiology and Interventional Radiology imaging equipment and rooms
- To undertake Acceptance Quality Control checks and oversee the commissioning
Quality control and maintenance of imaging equipment
- Manage the implementation of division’s QA Program including the daily Quality Control checks.
- Collaborate with BME to oversee the maintenance and performance of all imaging equipment.
- Utilise various QA test tools to perform first-line troubleshooting and identify equipment faults.
- Conduct advanced QC testing of imaging equipment including CT scanners to optimise imaging protocols and quality assessment.
- Support the harmonisation and standardisation of QC programmes and practices across Singhealth institutions
Radiation Protection of staff, patient & facility
- Providing advice and training about radiation protection on facility, radiation contamination, laboratory management and safe handling method of Nuclear Medicine /Radioactive implanted patients in Singapore General Hospital departments and across Singhealth institutions.
Patient radiation dose estimation
- Estimate patient absorbed dose and dose equivalence associated with Radiology procedures.
- Investigate incidents involving accidental or unintended radiation exposure to patients, staff or members of the public and recommend corrective actions.
Management of staff radiation dose monitoring
- Assist in the management and monitoring of occupational radiation doses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
- Investigate unexpectedly high radiation dose reports and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide radiation safety assistance for staff, patients and environment.
Radiation Protection Apparel
- Manage and review annual inspection and testing program for radiation protection apparel to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
Participate in mass casualty exercise / radiation emergency and major incident planning
- Develop and provide guidance on radiation emergency response plans, incident preparedness and casualty management.
Specifications, tender review and commissioning
- Create tender specifications, review tender submissions, participate in evaluation, and support the selection, acceptance testing and commissioning of imaging and radiation-related equipment.
Job Requirements:
- PhD or Master's degree in Physics or Medical Physics with at least 2 or 4 years’ experience respectively.
- Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Physics or Medical Physics with at least 10 years’ experience
