Job summary

Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist on a 1-year contract to support translational immunology and allergy research within a busy clinical research setting.

You will coordinate lab workflows, oversee equipment, handle specimens, perform ELISpot and ELISA, and help develop and validate assays while maintaining rigorous records and safety standards.

Qualifications

• A degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Immunology or a related discipline with hands‑on experience in a biomedical or research laboratory.
• Familiarity with human blood sample processing, mammalian cell culture, ELISpot and ELISA assays is advantageous.
• Prior experience coordinating laboratory operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day laboratory workflow, scheduling and inventory management with research assistants.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration and vendor liaison; maintain SOPs, logs and documentation.
• Receive, process and store clinical research specimens including serum/plasma and PBMC isolation.
• Perform mammalian cell culture, ELISpot (PBMC-based and whole-blood) and ELISA assays.
• Contribute to assay development, optimisation, validation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and prepare figures for reports, presentations and manuscripts.
• Uphold biosafety, research governance and laboratory safety standards.

We are looking for a motivated and organised laboratory professional to support translational immunology and allergy research in a dynamic clinical research environment.

Responsibilities

• Work together with research assistants and coordinate day-to-day laboratory workflow, scheduling and inventory management
• Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration and vendor liaison; maintain SOPs, logs and documentation
• Receive, process and store clinical research specimens, including serum/plasma separation and PBMC isolation from blood samples
• Perform mammalian cell culture, ELISpot (PBMC-based and whole-blood), ELISA and other immunological assays
• Contribute to assay development, optimisation, validation and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate experimental records; organise data and prepare figures to support research reports, presentations and manuscripts
• Uphold biosafety, research governance and laboratory safety standards

Requirements

• A degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, Immunology or a related discipline, with hands‑on experience in a biomedical or research laboratory.
