Job summary

KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Cell Processing Laboratory team. You will produce, process, and conduct quality control testing of cell therapy products, contributing scientific and technical expertise to daily operations and process improvements.

The role requires flexibility to work outside normal hours, including overnight shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call standbys, and candidates should hold a BSc or MSc in Transfusion Science,

Qualifications

• Hold a BSc or MSc degree in Transfusion Science, Haematology, or Biomedical Science.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including overnights, weekends, public holidays, and on-call standbys.

Responsibilities

• Produce and process cell therapy products following established protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Perform quality control tests on cell therapy products to maintain high standards of safety and efficacy.
• Provide scientific and technical input to support daily laboratory operations and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency and product quality.
• Contribute to the management and development of the Cell Processing Laboratory through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Adapt work schedule to include outside normal hours such as overnight shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call standbys as required.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience working in a hospital-based Blood or Tissue Bank or clinical Haematology Laboratory
• Experience in quality assurance for testing clinical specimens
