Job summary

Saft is seeking a Mechatronics Engineer for its ESS division to drive BESS projects from design to on-site commissioning. You will work with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure successful project execution, including defining layouts, schematics, BOMs, and technical specs.

The role requires hands-on mechatronics experience, strong English communication, and a focus on safety and reliability in remote or harsh environments. On-site activities in Singapore are expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project manager, field service team and system team to drive overall project progress
• Participate in preliminary study and site surveys for BESS projects, clarifying container placement conditions, transport routes, lifting working areas, interfaces, fire access, and foundation requirements
• Produce layout drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, schematics; compile BOMs and technical specs
• Design SLD / Layout of BESS projects including container, PCS, PMS, SCADA, network cabinet and fire protection
• Respond to Projects for commissioning of our products
• Investigate project issues from an engineering perspective

Within the ESS division, the Mechatronics Engineer is involved in the project phases, responsible for mechatronic engineering works of BESS projects, from preliminary scheme design to on-site lifting and commissioning.

The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for his projects and interacts directly with external and internal people in English most of the time.

The key missions are as follows:

• Participate in preliminary study and site surveys for BESS projects, clarifying container placement conditions, transport routes, lifting working areas, interfaces, fire access, and foundation requirements.
• Design the SLD / Layout of the BESS projects, covering container, PCS, PMS, SCADA, network cabinet, fire protection system.
• Produce layout drawings, electrical single-line diagrams, schematics. Compile BOMs, technical specifications, working instruction relating to the project.
• Coordinate with project manager, field service team and system team to drive overall project progress
• Answer questions from the Bid for calls for tenders
• Respond to Projects for the commissioning of our products
• Conduct investigation to project issue from engineering perspective

Your missions

• Design the SLD / Layout of the BESS projects, covering container, PCS, PMS, SCADA, network cabinet, fire protection system.
• Respond to Projects for the commissioning of our products
• Conduct investigation to project issue from engineering perspective

Your profile

• Academic background: Bachelor's degree or above in Mechatronics Engineering, Energy Storage Science and Engineering (Electrical and mechanical background), or related fields.
• Experience in mechatronic design or on-site installation and commissioning experience in BESS, priority given to candidates with complete BESS integration project experience.
• Experience in client management and/or remote work. Fluent professional English (necessary communication multisite teams, customer), mastery of computer tools (Excel, Word, Project).
• Experience in CAD, 3D modeling will be a plus for candidates.
