Job summary

A leading offshore oil and gas company is seeking a Mechanical Technician in Singapore. Responsibilities include executing maintenance on Topside equipment, supporting emergency drills, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications

Job Description
  • Responsible for executing mechanical maintenance of all Topside equipment and systems, also for supporting the maintenance of equipment in the engine room, pump room and marine systems, in order to maintain a high standard of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, so that they are carried out efficiently, in compliance with schedules, MODEC procedures, maintenance philosophy, national and international regulations and standards, in order to contribute so that all equipment and systems are operational and preserved for the assigned unit.
  • Carry out or supervise 3rd party employees in all services and operations related to the Mechanical discipline all Topside equipment and systems and, whenever required, in the engine room, pump room, and marine systems, in order to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of all plant and machinery in the unit, as well as emergency equipment, thus contributing to the production and revenue target achievement.
  • Contribute in emergency situations, or emergency drills, according to function attributed inside the Emergency response plan, participating in all trainings, simulations and acting properly in a real situation, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, guidelines, as well as national and international regulations.
  • Contribute to the MODEC’s Permit to Work management systems' implementation, by acting as Permit user of PTW for the task performed under his responsibility, in accordance with MODEC's procedures.
  • Contribute to enhance MODEC's procedures, by constantly evaluating maintenance activities and seeking improvement opportunities, providing technical input following MODEC's Maintenance Philosophy, manufacturer recommendation, and personnel experience.
  • Act proactively to safeguarding MODEC from noncompliance to legal/regulatory requirements by following or ensuring 3rd parties onboard follow MODEC's procedures, internal and external regulations, national and international standards supporting audits and inspections in the unit, and implementing action plans, when required.
  • Contribute to the organization and cleanliness of the Mechanical Worksite, as well as the control and inspection of tools, in order to ensure their availability, their correct use and conservation.
  • Contribute with the perfect functioning of the equipment by reporting to the Mech Supv all deficiencies, malfunctions and any abnormality. Discuss and analyze technical and spares parts issues with the Mechanical Supv as well as propose solutions to improve the equipment performance based on RCA techniques, using the technical knowledge and experience.
  • Support the unit's annual budget planning (expenses and investments), when required, by providing to the Mechanical Supv information about resources, replacements, services and materials needs and other expenses used in its activities.
  • If necessary, support in the activities of inspection of luggage, people and cargo on the disembark from offshore units, in compliance with NORMAM 27 – item 0115, regarding dangerous items handling.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical Degree is required, bachelor’s degree of discipline-specific Engineering
  • CFT active (or CREA for engineers) and valid is required.
  • Technician I/II/III: Minimum 2/4/7 years' overall experience is expected;
  • Previous experience in Offshore Oil & Gas area is a competitive edge.
