Job summary

ST Engineering in Singapore invites a Mechanical Engineer to join its Unmanned & Integrated Systems team. You will work with a multidisciplinary group to design mechanical hardware for underwater robotic and sensor systems, with emphasis on reliability and modularity.

Candidates should have solid fundamentals, CAD skills, and a passion for advanced defense and security tech. The role offers challenging projects, collaboration across engineers, and opportunities to influence system integration.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Mechanical / Mechatronics and Robotics or equivalent.
• Knowledge in 3D CAD modelling and production of drawings.
• Strong engineering fundamentals including design principles, equipment, materials and fabrication processes and methods.
• Knowledge in GD&T, Thermodynamics and Hydrodynamics will be advantageous.
• Passionate about engineering design and research, particularly in underwater robotics and sensors.
• Good product design and process development knowledge and experience with strong analytical skills to generate solutions and alternatives during system integration and testing.
• Open to new challenges.
• Ability to work to deadlines with a short timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical hardware and modules for cutting-edge underwater robotic and sensor systems
• Perform design analysis, technology assessments of novel systems and carry out trade-off studies
• Participate in all aspects of mechanical design, including basis of design, conceptual and detailed design
• Perform hardware system integration, testing and assembly of system at module and system level
