Job summary

Fuku on Jurong Island is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for rotating equipment maintenance. You will provide mechanical engineering expertise to support safe, reliable plant operations and develop short-term maintenance plans to achieve operational objectives.

You will troubleshoot equipment, support reliability-centered maintenance, and analyse performance data to identify recurring issues. The role requires SAP familiarity and proactive project coordination in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical engineering experience with rotating equipment maintenance.
• Exposure to plant-based maintenance in chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or manufacturing.
• Ability to work in outdoor plant environments.
• Strong understanding of plant equipment and utilities.
• Practical knowledge of reliability, troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance systems.
• Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Able to manage projects and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with evolving information.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise to support safe, reliable and continuous plant operations.
• Develop, implement and monitor short-term engineering and maintenance plans to achieve operational objectives.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, engineering contractors, suppliers, consultants and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with exposure in rotating equipment maintenances
• Relevant exposure to equipment maintenance within a plant-based environment, preferably from the chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, manufacturing or related industries.
• Comfortable working in an operational manufacturing plant environment, including predominantly outdoor areas.
• Good understanding of plant equipment, utilities systems and maintenance activities.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical equipment reliability, troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance systems or maintenance log modules.
• Knowledge and practical application of Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Able to manage engineering projects and coordinate effectively with contractors and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to work with incomplete or evolving information.
• Proactive and improvement-driven, with a strong commitment to plant safety, reliability and operational excellence.
