Job summary

Fuku on Jurong Island is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide expertise in rotating equipment maintenance and reliability. You will contribute to safe, continuous plant operations and lead maintenance planning efforts, ensuring timely completion of projects and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires 3+ years in relevant industries, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and experience with SAP maintenance modules.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in rotating equipment maintenance in chemical/pharma/oil&gas environments.
• Experience with SAP maintenance modules is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.
• Develop and monitor short-term maintenance plans to meet objectives.
• Troubleshoot equipment and plant issues to minimise downtime.
• Support preventive and reliability-centred maintenance activities.
• Analyse equipment data and maintenance history to identify recurring issues and improvements.
• Lead or participate in RCA and hazard studies to enhance equipment reliability.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies on projects.
• Maintain accurate engineering documentation and SAP records.
• Manage assigned eng. projects from initiation to completion within budget and safety constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise to support safe, reliable and continuous plant operations.
• Develop, implement and monitor short-term engineering and maintenance plans to achieve operational objectives.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment and plant-related issues to minimise downtime and production disruption.
• Support preventive, corrective and reliability-centred maintenance activities across assigned plant areas.
• Analyse equipment performance data and maintenance history to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and recommend practical solutions to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
• Lead or participate in hazard studies, process hazard reviews, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment design, functionality and overall plant performance.
• Maintain accurate equipment records, technical datasheets, engineering documentation and maintenance history within the SAP system.
• Manage assigned engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, safety requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, engineering contractors, suppliers, consultants and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with exposure in rotating equipment maintenances
• Relevant exposure to equipment maintenance within a plant-based environment, preferably from the chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, manufacturing or related industries.
• Comfortable working in an operational manufacturing plant environment, including predominantly outdoor areas.
• Good understanding of plant equipment, utilities systems and maintenance activities.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical equipment reliability, troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with SAP maintenance systems or maintenance log modules.
• Knowledge and practical application of Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Able to manage engineering projects and coordinate effectively with contractors and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to work with incomplete or evolving information.
• Proactive and improvement-driven, with a strong commitment to plant safety, reliability and operational excellence.
