Job summary

ADVINES HR SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an industrial laundry plant. You will inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and repair all heavy laundry machinery on the production floor.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, quick diagnosis of mechanical faults, installation and commissioning of equipment, keeping maintenance records, and coordinating with vendors. The role is hands-on, physical, and requires readiness for odd hours during peak production or breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in industrial machinery, laundry, facilities or plant maintenance preferred.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
• Basic knowledge of motors, pumps, pneumatic systems, steam systems and industrial equipment.
• Able to work independently and respond to machinery breakdowns under time pressure.
• Able to work in an industrial laundry production environment.
• Willing to perform both engineering and hands-on maintenance duties.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER - INDUSTRIAL LAUNDRY PLANT

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial laundry machinery, including industrial washers, dryers, hydro-extractors, ironing systems, folding machines, conveyors, pumps, motors and related mechanical equipment.
• Attend to machinery breakdowns and production equipment faults promptly to minimise disruption to laundry operations.
• Perform hands-on mechanical repair work, including dismantling, replacement and installation of mechanical components, bearings, belts, chains, valves, pumps and motors.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to the plant maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical faults and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor steam, compressed-air, water and other utility systems supporting laundry production equipment.
• Assist with installation, testing, commissioning, modification and relocation of production machinery when required.
• Maintain maintenance records, spare-parts inventory, breakdown reports and preventive-maintenance documentation.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors for major repairs and servicing.
• Support production operations during urgent machinery breakdowns and high-volume production periods.
• Required to perform hands-on work on the production floor and machinery areas; this is not a desk-based engineering position.
• Work environment may be hot, humid, noisy and physically demanding due to continuous operation of industrial washing, drying and steam equipment.
• Work may involve prolonged standing, bending, climbing, working around machinery and handling tools/equipment.
• Must be prepared to attend to urgent equipment breakdowns outside normal working hours when operationally required.
• Weekend and public-holiday work may be required according to the plant's production and maintenance schedule.
• Perform any other engineering, maintenance and operational duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in industrial machinery, manufacturing, laundry, facilities or plant maintenance preferred.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
• Basic knowledge of motors, pumps, pneumatic systems, steam systems and industrial equipment.
• Able and willing to work in an industrial laundry production environment.
• Able to work independently and respond to machinery breakdowns under time pressure.
• Candidates must be comfortable performing both engineering and hands-on maintenance duties.
