Job summary

Alpha Consulting Engineers in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our office. You will design, supervise, and administer mechanical systems for institutional, commercial, residential, and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.

You will work on air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, plumbing and sanitary systems, and contribute to plan submissions, technical specifications, and site progress monitoring.

Qualifications

• Degree recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) of Singapore.
• Experience in building services consultancy for institutional/commercial/residential projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, supervision, and contract administration of mechanical systems for institutional/commercial/residential/industrial projects.
• Prepare and review air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, plumbing and sanitary works.
• Prepare system schematics and layout drawings; prepare technical specifications and drawings.
• Submit plans to relevant authorities; review contractor submissions and progress claims; monitor site progress; witness tests.

What you will do:

Design, supervision, and contract administration of the following works for institutional/ commercial/ residential/ industrial projects:

1) Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation Systems

• Cooling load calculations
• Pump selection and pipe sizing
• Air handling equipment selection and duct sizing
• Controls and building automation system
• Fire sprinkler pump selection and pipe sizing
• Wet/Dry riser system

3) Plumbing & Sanitary Systems

• Hot and cold domestic water system
• Sanitary drainage system
• Town gas piping system

4) Preparation of system schematic and layout drawings

5) Preparation of technical specifications and drawings

7) Plan submissions to relevant authorities

8) Review of contractors technical submission and shop drawings

9) Verification of contractors progress claims

10) Monitoring of contractors' site progress

11) Witness factory & site acceptance tests
