Job summary

RMJ CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. is seeking an engineer to design and develop precision mechanical structures for optical communication automated test equipment.

The role focuses on high-precision motion platforms, thermal and vibration analysis, and rigorous dimensional control to achieve micron-to-nanometre alignment accuracy. You will coordinate with machining suppliers, manage fabrication and assembly, troubleshoot issues, and support mass production with optimized mechanical

Qualifications

• Experience designing precision mechanical structures for optical test equipment.
• Experience with structural mechanics, thermal deformation and vibration analyses.
• Experience coordinating machining suppliers and assembly/testing support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop precision mechanical structures for optical test equipment.
• Develop high-precision motion platforms, optical alignment mechanisms and temperature-control modules.
• Coordinate with machining suppliers, oversee parts fabrication and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot mechanical design, manufacturing and process-related issues.
• Prepare mechanical drawings, BOMs and assembly documentation.
• Collaborate with commissioning and testing teams to verify prototype performance and optimise designs.
• Support engineering teams with mechanical process optimisation during mass production.

Job description

• Design and develop precision mechanical structures for optical communication automated test equipment.
• Develop high-precision motion platforms, optical alignment mechanisms, temperature-control modules, probe modules, machine structures and tooling fixtures.
• Conduct structural mechanics, thermal deformation and vibration analysis to support micron-to-nanometre-level alignment accuracy and long-term equipment stability.
• Coordinate with machining suppliers and follow up on parts fabrication, prototype assembly and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot structural design, manufacturing and process-related issues.
• Prepare and maintain mechanical drawings, BOMs and assembly/process documentation.
• Collaborate with commissioning and testing teams to verify prototype performance and continuously optimise mechanical designs.
• Support the engineering team with mechanical process optimisation and troubleshooting during mass production.
