Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and test mechanical components from concept to production. You will create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support prototype fabrication and validation.

The role requires a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design, 2+ years of mechanical design experience, and proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical product design is preferred.
• Fresh graduates with relevant technical skills and a strong design portfolio are welcome to apply.
• Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material selection and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop design concepts, 3D models and prototypes using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, models and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements and performance standards.
• Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes based on product requirements, functionality and cost considerations.
• Assist in prototype fabrication, assembly and testing to validate design concepts and functionality.
• Analyze test results, identify design issues and implement improvements to enhance product performance and reliability.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including industrial designers, electrical engineers and manufacturing personnel, to support product development and production.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from relevant stakeholders.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to assess design feasibility, material availability and manufacturing costs.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, calculations, drawings and revision records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other engineering-related duties as assigned.
