Job summary

Techwaregroup in Singapore seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineering Leader to guide a team of engineers and designers, driving design and development of high-precision mechanical systems for semiconductor equipment from concept through production.

You will set goals, review designs, manage resources and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure robust documentation, DFM/DFA practices, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in mechanical design; 3+ years leadership.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers and designers with mentorship.
• Set goals, priorities & expectations aligned with projects.
• Oversee multiple projects from planning to execution and timelines.
• Lead design and development of mechanical systems, assemblies & fixtures.
• Review and approve designs, drawings, and technical specs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring products to production.
• Oversee documentation, 3D modeling, BOMs and configuration control.
• Apply materials science knowledge to projects.
• Drive process improvements and efficiency in design.
• Lead design reviews, DFMEA, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, root cause investigations.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers and designers, providing mentorship, guidance and performance feedback.
• Set clear goals, priorities and expectations to ensure alignment with project and organisational objectives.
• Oversee multiple projects from planning to execution, including resource allocation and timeline management.
• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, assemblies, and fixtures.
• Review and approve design concepts, detailed drawings, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to production.
• Oversee design documentation, 3D modeling, detailed drawings, BOM creation, and configuration control.
• Good knowledge of a wide spectrum of material science and engineering.
• Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains in design and development.
• Continuously improve design processes, toolsets, and team capabilities.
• Drive design reviews, risk assessments (DFMEA), tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA practices, and root cause investigations.
• Performing any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, including 3+ years in a leadership role. Experience in a Front-End or Back-End Semiconductor Equipment environment or application is preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent).
• Deep understanding of materials selection, GD&T, and high-precision manufacturing techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
