Job summary

HOPE Technik Pte Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to solve complex mechanical problems at assembly and sub-assembly levels. You will develop drawings for manufactured parts, translate customer requirements into technical specs, and perform structural analyses to ensure design integrity.

The role requires hands-on experience with SolidWorks, hydraulics knowledge, and experience with large structures such as cranes or heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in mechanical engineering / component design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Design knowledge in sheet metal parts, weldments, truss structures, machine parts.
• Design knowledge for ease of manufacture and assembly and ingress protection.
• Design knowledge in motion control / Kinematic solutions.
• FEA of quasistatic loading conditions.
• Design knowledge in hydraulics will be of added advantages.
• Experience in mechanical design of large structures, cranes, equipment will be added advantages.

Responsibilities

• Device solutions to mechanical problems at an assembly/sub-assembly level.
• Develop assembly and component drawings for parts to be manufactured.
• Design holistic tests to translate customer requirements into technical requirements.
• Attach risk levels to solutions proposed to ensure sound decisions.
• Produce design documents, test reports, and other related documentation.
• Support fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes.
• Perform structural analysis on components and sub-assemblies to meet design specs.
• Select materials, actuators, components, fasteners, etc. to meet design requirements.
• Develop hydraulic circuits including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and safety locks.
• Apply sound engineering principles with innovation to meet goals.
• Build prototypes/POCs.
