Job summary

Protec Systems Pte Ltd. is seeking an Application Engineer to support the full product development cycle, from prototyping and CAD design through field support.

You will create 2D/3D models, write technical documentation, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver precise mechanical and mechatronic solutions. The role emphasizes prototyping, testing, and reliability standards, with hands-on assembly and validation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Precision, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in precision machinery or complex mechatronic systems.
• Experience delivering end-to-end product development projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and precision measurement methods.
• Hands-on experience in prototype assembly, test fixtures, jigs, and validation activities.
• Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks; experience in additive manufacturing is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical systems where needed
• Sketch initial product ideas, mechanisms, and structural architectures for new components. Design optimization and reliability (CIP)
• Develop testing and reliability standards for quality control
• Generate 2D layouts, 3D CAD models, highly detailed parts, large assemblies, technical drawings or system piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
• Write technical manuals, installation guides, and application notes for custom builds
• Provide Application field support when required
