Job summary

I.EM ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer at mid level to plan and design mechanical services for building projects, ensuring buildable, timely, and economical designs.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years' design experience in building services, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office. You will coordinate with contractors and authorities and participate in project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years’ hands-on design experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Experience in building services design with Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation.
• Knowledge of Singapore Code of Practice and authority submission process.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical services for building services projects to deliver buildable design.
• Present design concept reports to clients.
• Prepare M&E cost estimates based on approved design scheme.
• Prepare technical specifications and tender documentation.
• Coordinate M&E services within the office.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions and RFIs.
• Verify progress and handle variations for progress claims.
• Liaise with contractors, architects and authorities to ensure compliance and timely completion.
• Carry out site investigation surveys and submit technical reports.
• Manage Designers and project management from pre-development to completion.
• Ensure quality records and quality audit plans are maintained.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with method statements and industry practice.
• Assist in ISO system implementation and audits.
• Other works as assigned by the company.
