Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials/Procurement professional in Singapore to forecast engineering and manufacturing needs and coordinate with suppliers. The role supports sourcing decisions and material strategy, ensuring timely delivery and cost-efficient supplier performance.

You will work with cross-functional teams to manage supplier risk, drive transition plans, and optimize parts via MRP coordination.

Qualifications

  • Forecasts engineering, materials, and manufacturing needs to suppliers.
  • Performs make-versus-buy analysis to guide outsourcing decisions.
  • Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
  • Collaborates with buyers, planners, and production control on product development deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Forecasts and communicates requirements to suppliers under supervision.
  • Supports new materials strategy creation and releases.
  • Participates in transition materials plan and change control processes.
  • Assists in supplier price and delivery negotiations; may negotiate contracts.
  • Uses supplier selection and assessment processes for supplier choices.
  • Completes supplier risk assessments for critical parts.
  • Monitors supplier performance: delivery, quality, cost.
  • Helps identify long-lead and critical parts with engineering.
