Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. is seeking a Materials Engineer to manage assigned commodities and collaborate with the global teams in R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to ensure quality, timely delivery and cost competitiveness.

You will drive supplier performance, handle NPIs, BOM setup for new products, qualification of alternative materials, and lead continuous improvements including DPPM reduction, material disruption management, and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials or Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Materials Engineering or related engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Managing Supplier Quality Performance including TQRDC, SCARS, PCNs, and Material Disruption management.
• Working with cross functional engineering teams to drive Field Defects reduction (External) including DPPM reduction, DEFOA analysis and improvement plans; improve products’ reliability.
• Production Non-Conformance Material reduction; execute Continuous Improvement initiatives and analyze defect types.
• Mitigate Assurance of Supply challenges (Shortages, EOL, Tariff).
• Initiate Annual Material Cost Savings initiatives (VAVE, Resource).
• Commodity/Subject Matter Expert – participate in NPI including influencing design/material selection for manufacturability.
• Lead BOM setup for NPI; Lead NPI-related sourcing; New Capability exploration.
• Work with Compliance Engineering to ensure regulatory compliance; clarify specifications with suppliers; risk assessment of incoming materials.
• Coordinate engineering change management due to material/supplier/process changes; Transfer of manufacturing sites (Out-sourcing/In-sourcing).
• Asset Management – Agilent’s assets at Suppliers.
