Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience in marketing, BD or communications, including law or professional services preferred.
• Proven experience running directory submissions, pitches and events.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, able to turn technical content into clear material.
• Knowledge of digital marketing tools (LinkedIn, eDMs, SEO, analytics).
• Judgement to advise stakeholders and push back when needed.
• Highly organised and able to handle multiple priorities in a small team.
• Discretion when dealing with confidential information.

Responsabilités

The role

We are looking for a Marketing and Business Development Manager to run the firm’s marketing and BD function. The role covers both strategy and delivery: you will shape the plan, then write the content, prepare the submissions and run the events yourself. It suits someone experienced who enjoys a hands‑on role in a lean team and wants real ownership of their work.

What you will do

Strategy and planning

• Develop and carry out the firm’s marketing and BD plan with stakeholders and support practice-level plans
• Find opportunities for growth through market and competitor research and client insights, and turn them into practical initiatives
• Track and report on how campaigns, events and digital channels perform

Business development

• Lead the preparation of pitches, proposals, tenders and capability statements
• Support stakeholders on client relationship programmes, cross‑selling and pipeline tracking
• Work with member firms and other partners on joint initiatives and referrals

Content and communications

• Write and edit content for the website, LinkedIn, newsletters, client alerts, eDMs and marketing collateral
• Manage the firm’s brand and make sure messaging is consistent across all channels
• Handle media relations, including drafting materials, building journalist contacts and managing speaking and article opportunities

Directories and awards

• Manage the full cycle of Chambers, Legal 500 and other directory submissions, including referee management and research interviews
• Prepare award submissions and league table entries

Events

• Plan and run seminars, webinars, client events and conference appearances from start to finish, including follow‑up afterwards

Operations

• Maintain website, credentials database and lawyer profiles
• Manage the marketing budget, suppliers and agencies
• Supervise interns or junior support when needed

What we are looking for

• At least five years’ experience in marketing, BD or communications, including at least some of that time at a law firm or professional services firm
• Proven experience running directory submissions, pitches and events
• Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to turn technical and legal content into clear, engaging material
• A good working knowledge of digital marketing, including LinkedIn, eDMs, SEO and Google Analytics
• The judgement and confidence to advise stakeholders and push back where needed
• Highly organised and comfortable handling several priorities in a small team without much supervision
• A high level of discretion when dealing with confidential information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and CRM systems is an advantage
• Mandarin is an advantage for engaging with Chinese‑speaking clients and counterparts
