Job summary

Singapore Maritime Institute seeks a software engineer to join the R&D Digital Translation team. You will participate in requirements gathering and end-to-end development from UI/UX to Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps and QA.

You will design, implement and test in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Java, .NET, React Native, and other languages, while collaborating across security, QA and product backlog to deliver secure software solutions for the maritime industry.

Qualifications

• Background in Computer Science, Engineering or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript and at least one of Java/Python/Go.
• Experience with AngularJS, Bootstrap and modern web technologies.
• Experience in full software/product development lifecycle, preferably Agile.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements gathering and contribute to functional specs.
• Design algorithms and flowcharts for new software systems.
• Develop clean, efficient code using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Java, .NET, React Native and related languages.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software.
• Perform code reviews and functional testing to ensure standards.
• Refactor code for reusability and reduce technical debt.
• Collaborate with QA to prepare SIT/UAT test cases and criteria.
• Coordinate with Application Security to conduct SSAT and remediate findings.
• Maintain reusable APIs and components, and update technical documentation.
• Support ongoing deployment and cloud operations as part of end-to-end lifecycle.
