Job summary

The Maritime Engineering team at Nanyang Technological University seeks a Research Engineer to advance Structural/FEA work for Maritime Drone Operations. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a closely related engineering field.
• Strong background in finite element analysis or crash simulation.
• Experience in maritime/naval structures is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop FEA frameworks to estimate damage from drone-vessel collisions.
• Formulate impact analysis with drone trajectories and vessel geometry.
• Run nonlinear/explicit dynamic FEA simulations for various vessels.
• Translate damage into functional-impact and risk classifications.
• Create surrogate models to speed up damage predictions.
• Integrate damage outputs with risk models and Maritime Digital Twin.
• Collaborate with researchers and project partners; produce reports.
